Safyral Oral Contraceptive Poses Same Risk to Women as Yasmin
Women who take the oral contraceptive Safyral have the same increased risk for blood clots, stroke, and heart attack as women who take Yasmin. These medications, both made by Bayer, contain the same synthetic hormone drospirenone which has been found to increase a woman’s risk of developing blood clots. These clots can cause serious injuries including deep vein thrombosis or DVT, pulmonary embolisms, heart attack and stroke. According to Bayer and the FDA, Safyral contains the same essential ingredients as Yasmin with the addition of a B vitamin.
Thousands of women have filed lawsuits against Bayer for injuries they have sustained after taking Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella.
