Franciscan Health Nurse Pleads Guilty to Tampering with Pain Medications
An emergency room nurse at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville, Indiana, pleaded guilty to tampering with pain medications according to media reports. Court documents state Jennifer L. Adams admitted to tampering with vials of pain medications including morphine, fentanyl, hydromorphone and ketamine while working at Franciscan Health between October 1, 2018 and February 18, 2020. Adams accessed these medications through the automated dispensing machine Pyxis. After draining the vials of medication, Adams refilled the vials with saline and returned them to the machine to be used on more than 30 patients according to court documents.
