Bankers Life Insurance Reveals Data Breach but Doesn’t Say How Many Customers Impacted
Officials with Bankers Life and Casualty Company announced that cyber thieves accessed personal client information on its data base for a period of time between May 30, 2018 and September 13, 2018 according to media reports. The insurer stated that hackers were able to access information including social security numbers, driver’s license, bank account numbers, medication information, and medical history information including treatment plans. The company declined to announce exactly how many customers were compromised in this cyber attack.
