Over 260 Patients of Northwest Indiana Cardiology Group Settle for $66.5 Million
After more than six years of litigation, Theodoros & Rooth, a Northwest Indiana law firm and CohenMalad, LLP an Indianapolis law firm, announce a settlement of $66.5 million with a Northwest Indiana cardiology group, a Northwest Indiana hospital, and with the participation of the Indiana Patient’s Compensation Fund of over 260 medical malpractice claims. The claims related to alleged unnecessary cardiac procedures and device implantations. The settling defendants deny that they had engaged in any negligent or otherwise improper conduct and deny any liability relative to the claims.
