Indiana Sexual Assault Lawyers
View Transcript | Ashley Hadler: The first and most obvious question that a sexual abuse survivor or their parent or guardian will have when they come to my office for our initial meeting is, “What do I do next? What can the civil justice system do for me?”
They’re coming to me in a moment when what they would most like to do is package up that painful memory and this traumatic event, put it on a shelf in the very back of their mind, and leave it in that place to deal with at some point in the future, months or years from now when they believe that the memory will have faded and that it may not be as painful.
We sought out an expert to teach us about the range of emotions and symptoms that our clients will experience in the short and long term as a result of their sexual abuse.
Having this knowledge has empowered us to give our clients a voice, understand what they are going through, and uniquely communicate with them in their time of need.
