Cohen & Malad, LLP filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of hundreds of workers at a Wal-Mart distribution warehouse in Indianapolis. The lawsuit alleges that Wal-Mart failed to take proper precautions to protect and inform facility workers about exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.
Court documents state the employees were not informed regarding the extent of the contamination or the length of time of exposure. PCBs are known to cause cancer along with other serious injuries such as liver damage, thyroid disease, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, breathing disorders, and skin conditions.
The lawsuit seeks to provide compensation for medical care and monitoring for all employees of the facility who were put at risk by the exposure of this toxic chemical.
