United Way of Central Indiana’s Center for Working Families Receives $32,000 from Cohen & Malad, LLP Settlement Funds

Cohen & Malad, LLP is pleased to announce the United Way of Central Indiana’s Center for Working Families received over $32,000 as a distribution of unclaimed settlement funds. The distribution comes from a consumer protection lawsuit Cohen & Malad, LLP filed on behalf of a group of credit union members who were charged improper account fees.  The court approved the distribution of these unclaimed funds to the United Way program to benefit families in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. The Center for Working Families provides programs to improve education, financial stability and overall health of families.

“We are happy these unclaimed funds will help families throughout the community by providing programs and resources to help them thrive. The global pandemic this year has created so many challenges and economic uncertainties for families that we could not be prouder of the impact this contribution will make,” said Lynn Toops partner at Cohen & Malad, LLP.
