The Honorable Freda L. Wolfson has appointed Jeff S. Gibson of Cohen & Malad, LLP to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for In Re: Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder Products Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation. This litigation involves complaints from thousands of women who used Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower to Shower talcum powder products for feminine hygiene for years and were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Juries have awarded more than $147 million to women who filed lawsuits against Johnson & Johnson for failing to warn women of the risk for developing ovarian cancer. The Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee will be charged with organizing and coordinating pretrial discovery along with communicating the progress of this ongoing litigation.
