Plaintiff Awarded $450,000 Against “Nose Doc” Mark Weinberger
A Crown Point, Indiana jury awarded $450,000 in damages to a plaintiff for injuries he suffered as a patient of former Merrillville “Nose Doc” Mark Weinberger. The plaintiff, Robert Hall, is one of hundreds of patients treated by Weinberger who have filed complaints against the former doctor. Mr. Hall’s complaint alleged that Weinberger recommended five different surgical procedures, none of which were necessary. Instead of performing these procedures, Weinberger spent 35 minutes cutting holes into Mr. Hall’s sinuses which caused him to get worse and caused him to have problems that he did not have before.
The Times of northwestern Indiana reported Weinberger is facing more than 350 civil lawsuits, with similar allegations to this case.
Kelley Johnson, partner at Cohen & Malad, LLP, said, “This is the eighth case we have tried against Weinberger, and it appears that Lake County juries are finding it hard to believe that Dr. Weinberger continues to refuse to accept responsibility for what he did.”
