Cohen & Malad, LLP Files Nationwide Class Action Lawsuit Against Sony on Behalf of Identity Theft Victim
Cohen & Malad, LLP filed a nationwide class action lawsuit against Sony for the recent well-publicized data security breach of Sony’s PlayStation Network. Sony failed to secure and safeguard its customers’ private personal and financial data, including credit and debit card information, which resulted in hackers breaching Sony’s PlayStation Network. The breach caused Sony to take down its PlayStation Network, which resulted in Sony failing to provide goods and services purchased by its customers.
The class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of an identity theft victim who suffered the withdrawal of over $1,000 from his checking account as a result of the PlayStation data security breach. The class action lawsuit is also brought on behalf of all purchasers of the Sony PlayStation who also subscribed to the PlayStation Network and suffered loss of service and breach of security.
