Meet Amina
Amina focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and class action matters. Amina is currently leading the firm’s class action litigation against insurance companies involving policyholder benefits and rights. She is also part of the firm’s Data Breach litigation team, where she advocates for individuals whose personal information was stolen in cyberattacks against hospitals, employers, insurance providers, and other businesses.
Prior to joining Cohen & Malad, LLP, Amina had the honor of serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Melissa S. May at the Indiana Court of Appeals and to the Honorable Judge Heather A. Welch at the Indiana Commercial Court. Amina’s clerkship experience has given her a command of courtroom procedure and commercial litigation. In law school, Amina worked as a law clerk in the Consumer Protection Division of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office.
Amina is active with the Indianapolis Bar Association, having served as a board member of the Women and Law Division Executive Committee for the past several years. In that role, she has contributed countless hours of her time to mentorship and education tailored towards promoting the success of female attorneys. Additionally, Amina is an active member of the Sagamore Inn of Court. She was named to the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2021 and 2022.
