New Transvaginal Mesh MDL Formed for Coloplast Lawsuits

An order issued on August 6, 2012 has established the newest multidistrict litigation (MDL) for the handling of transvaginal mesh lawsuits against Coloplast Corporation. Coloplast is a manufacturer of mesh devices for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Its products include Aris Transobturator Sling, Exair, Restorelle, Minitape, Omnisure, Supris Suprapublic Sling, T-sling, and the Novasilk sling.

There are currently 24 lawsuits filed against Coloplast related to injuries that women have suffered as a result of these implants. Injuries include erosion of the mesh into surrounding tissue, pelvic pain, infection, bleeding, urinary problems, painful intercourse, and perforation of organs.

Thousands of women have claimed serious injuries as a result of transvaginal mesh products and have filed lawsuits against the manufacturers. If you or someone you care about has suffered a serious injury from a transvaginal mesh device, contact us to learn about your legal rights and options. Our product liability attorneys have litigated dangerous medical device cases throughout the U.S. and are representing women in transvaginal mesh litigation.
