Nearly 70,000 Patient Records Hacked in Data Breach at Methodist Hospitals
Methodist Hospitals based in Gary, Indiana, announced a data breach of nearly 70,000 patient records after it discovered hackers had gained unauthorized access to its servers. The hospital reported cyber thieves gained access to its servers between March 13 and July 8, 2019. Information including patient names, address, data of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, medical account information, treatment and diagnosis information, and payment card information may have been compromised in the data breach.
