Former Huntington University Coach Charged with New Count of Felony Sexual Battery

The Huntington County grand jury issued an indictment on March 27, 2023, against former Huntington University women’s track coach, Nicholas Johnson. This is following accusations of his alleged involvement in the creation of a “cult-like atmosphere” that resulted in the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of student athletes at the university. According to IndyStar coverage, true bills were filed, charging Johnson with felony sexual battery and misdemeanor battery. He stands accused of intentionally touching a victim in a rude or angry manner, as well as touching another victim who was compelled to submit through force or the imminent threat of it.

Athletes deserve to train and compete in an atmosphere free of sexual misconduct and abuse. Our hearts go out to the student athletes who have suffered emotional, physical, and sexual abuse at the hands of someone they trusted. We understand the devastating impact of sexual abuse, and we are here to provide compassionate and professional legal support for those who have been affected. Our experienced sexual abuse attorneys are dedicated to protecting the rights of victims and their families. We work tirelessly to ensure that they receive the justice and compensation they deserve.
