Former Huntington University Coach Charged with New Count of Felony Sexual Battery
The Huntington County grand jury issued an indictment on March 27, 2023, against former Huntington University women’s track coach, Nicholas Johnson. This is following accusations of his alleged involvement in the creation of a “cult-like atmosphere” that resulted in the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of student athletes at the university. According to IndyStar coverage, true bills were filed, charging Johnson with felony sexual battery and misdemeanor battery. He stands accused of intentionally touching a victim in a rude or angry manner, as well as touching another victim who was compelled to submit through force or the imminent threat of it.
