Dr. Alen N. Cohen Faces Medical Malpractice Lawsuit for Alleged Unnecessary Sinus Surgery
Cohen & Malad, LLP attorneys along with Theodoros & Rooth, P.C. and Gibbs Law Group, LLP filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against ENT surgeon Dr. Alen N. Cohen and Dr. Matt Hershcovitz who practice at Southern California Sinus Institute, C/V ENT Surgical Group, and West Hills Surgical Center over claims of unnecessary sinus surgery. The complaint claims Dr. Cohen, along with ENT and rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Matt Hershcovitz, falsely documented and stated the patient had extensive sinus disease which would require septoplasty and extensive sinus surgery. Per the complaint, the surgeons completed eight unnecessary surgeries which left the 20-year-old patient with permanent sinus scarring, permanent impairment of the natural function of their sinuses, pain, and unnecessary medical expenses. She now has Empty Nose Syndrome.
