Eric Rochford is an associate in the firm’s real estate/eminent domain practice group. Eric focuses his practice on representing landowners in eminent domain matters. He represents clients ranging from residential landowners to commercial property owners, and he has practiced eminent domain law almost exclusively his entire career. Prior to joining Cohen & Malad, LLP, Eric represented primarily condemning agencies, including cities, counties, utility companies and the State. This experience offers him unique insight into the strategies and arguments that local and state agencies use in land acquisition activities and makes him a strong advocate for the homeowners he seeks to represent in these actions.
Eric’s practice includes significant work with a team on the Ohio River Bridges Project in southern Indiana. He and his team were recognized with the 2013 International Right of Way Association’s Project of the Year award. The work involved over 90 parcels and over 40 relocations with a $38 million right of way budget for the construction and reconstruction of two bridges over the Ohio River to improve cross-river mobility in the Louisville, KY metropolitan area.
